Green Energy Transition in The Netherlands

The overarching aim of this project, as informed by the University of Amsterdam Human Factor Technology Theme Group, is to make connections between the technology consumption patterns in the global North and production costs in the global South where most of the critical minerals that enable technological advancement are extracted. 

The proposed project is a collaborative research project aimed at answering specific pertinent questions related to climate change and sustainable development more broadly and ‘just’ energy transitions in Southern Africa making links to the Netherlands.
